The study of law occupies a distinctive position among the academic disciplines and demands not merely the acquisition of knowledge but the cultivation of judgment, integrity and a disposition toward justice. As the eminent jurist Roscoe Pound observed, law must be regarded as “a social institution to satisfy social wants”. This observation continues to inform the pedagogical philosophy of this institution, which seeks to prepare its students not only to comprehend the law as it exists but to appreciate the social purposes it is intended to serve.

Sarvajanik College of Law does not confine its objectives to the transmission of legal doctrine. Towards this end, the College maintains a curriculum of academic rigour is served by a faculty of considerable experience and scholarly commitment and provides avenues for practical engagement through moot court exercises, internships and legal aid initiatives.
